Best Smudge-Proof Pencil Eyeliner | Clio GelPresso Waterproof Pencil Gel Liner

Does your smudge-proof eyeliner really stay smudge-proof the entire day? About two years ago, my good fortune led me to pick up Clio GelPresso Waterproof Pencil Gel Liner. Who would know that this Korean-made drug-store product would later sit on my Holy Grail list as the Best Pencil Eyeliner?

Since young, I’ve always leaned towards pencil-based than liquid eyeliners. Pencil-based liners offer better control and provide a much more natural look. Though I’ve found some that have good lasting ability, I’ve never seen one as smudge-proof as Clio Gelpresso Waterproof Pencil Gel Liner.

Though it came off a bit with VERY VIGOROUS RUBBING, let’s just say that no one in the right frame of mind would rub their eyes so vigorously.  So trust me that this will stay for as long as you like it to stay.

What’s Good about Clio Gelpresso Waterproof Pencil Gel Liner?

1. 100% Smudge-proof

This is its main selling point. As compared with other smudge-proof liners that I’ve tried, Clio Gelpresso Waterproof Pencil Gel Liner is far more superior.

It is especially useful for those with oily or inner eyelids, which are the most prone to smudges. 

2. Glides on Easily

Its formula has the right balance such that it glides on smoothly without skipping or tugging, and yet does a great job in not over-depositing the pigments.

Warning!

Please skip the mini trial-size kit that is normally sold during festive seasons. Those were awlful! The pencils seem to be made of a vastly different formula, as they were hard and skipped a lot during application. After a short while, they were unusable as they no longer deposit any pigments – like as if they fossilized on their own. Maybe I bought an expired set?

To play it safe, just get the full-size products. Those should work well. 

3. Looks Great

My favorite colors are Chic Navy and Beige Shine. Chic Navy which carries some shimmer is a good alternative to the boring black, while Beige Shine is excellent for use on the waterline.  

4. No need for Sharpener

You don’t need a sharpener. Just twist out more of the product when you need it. After that, pluck out the in-built sharpener from the other end.

Cover the pencil tip with the cute little sharpener. 

 Start sharpening it by turning the sharpener in clockwise direction. 

And there you go. A perfect pencil tip!

5. Wipes off Easily with Cleanser

Though it’s super smudge-proof, it’s a breeze to remove with your normal makeup cleanser. My Lancome Bi-facil removes it in a single swipe.

6. Value-for-money

To be honest with you, I’m still using my first Clio Eyeliner. Yes, the one I bought 2 years ago. It’s still smooth and good. This demonstrates 2 things:

• The product lasts a long time.
• The product does not turn bad easily (with exception of the mini trial-size kit)

Recommendation

I would normally dedicate a section to list down the not-too-great stuff of a product, but couldn’t find any under this review. Clio Gelpresso Waterproof Pencil Gel Liner is a fabulous product that deserves everyone’s attention. Give it a try. It may be your holy grail eyeliner too. Rating: 5/5
