Why Clinique Liquid Facial Soap Mild is my everyday face wash!

Do you know what’s my favourite cleanser right now? It’s Clinique Liquid Facial Soap Mild. I would reach out for it every single day, even though there are many face cleansers sitting in my bathroom waiting to be used. Unfortunately, those just ain’t as gentle as Clinique for my mature and dehydrated skin.

Read on and I’ll share more about this mild cleanser, including its pros and cons.

This cleanser comes in Mild and Extra Mild variants. For info, the one I’m reviewing today is the Mild version that comes with purple cap. Obviously, if you need something even gentler, you can go for the Extra Mild version that comes in green cap. I wouldn’t mind trying that in my next purchase.

Now, let’s check out what’s so good about Clinique Liquid Facial Soap (Mild version).

What’s Great about Clinique Liquid Facial Soap (Mild)?

1. Not harsh on dry skin

As shared earlier, it’s the gentlest of the lot of facial wash I have at home (I have about 5 opened tubes right now). When using Clinique mild face wash twice a day, I did not suffer excessive skin flaking which is quite a common occurrence probably due to my use of Vitamin C Serum and at-home peel

2. Cleanses well

Would a gentle face wash be effective in cleansing face of residue and impurities? I’m happy to share I’ve not had pimples when using Clinique Mild Liquid Cleanser.

This applies when I used it on its own (morning routine) as well as a second cleanser after makeup remover (night routine). Hence, I can safely say that it cleanses well, at least for me.

3. Generous Quantity

Most cleansers come with 100g of product. Clinique Liquid Facial Soap comes with more – 200ml in total. However, do note that since it’s a liquid, it may be more diluted than other foaming cleansers.

Still, I find that I am able to use a small amount per wash. As of time of writing, the bottle is only half-used after many months of twice-daily usage.

4. Free of unnecessary ingredients

Clinique Liquid Facial Soap is free of parabens, phthalates, fragrance and synthetic colors. Those with sensitive skin may find this attribute useful.

5. Love its packaging

I love the packaging which looks simple, clean and presentable. It is also easy to dispense the gel cleanser – just tilt and squeeze, and the liquid will come out effortlessly.

Another thing good about such a packaging is how I can see the amount left in the bottle.

What’s not great?

1. Not cheap

Clinique Liquid Facial Soap is not a drugstore brand, and therefore is not cheap. In Singapore, it is priced at about S$36 as at time of writing. You may get it cheaper from overseas online stores – here’s its latest online price

2. Does not foam as much

If you love a good lather, you may take a while to get used to Clinique Liquid Facial Soap as it doesn’t foam as much. It’ll also leave the face feeling slightly slippery. But this is what I like about the product as my face doesn’t feel tight or dry after a wash.

Recommendation

This is one of the few face washes I’ve used that works well on dry and dehydrated skin. As such, it is likely that I will repurchase Clinique Liquid Facial Soap (Mild), especially if I can spot a good deal. As shared, I may even consider giving the gentler variant – Extra Mild version – a try.  Rating: 4.5/5
